In a stark reminder of the dangers law enforcement officers face while handling unknown substances, a recent incident in Minnesota underscores the critical need for caution and adherence to safety protocols.
Great info. Tragic consequences. There are Raman lasers where you can dial back the laser output power. There are raman lasers available these days that are not “ON” the whole time while acquiring. You can also use colorimetric tests for drugs and explosives on the outside of bag and above zipper without opening bag. Thanks for the info Keith !
This came from a bulletin put out by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. They did not mention the agency, but I think we call all trust the BCA, they are good people. Also, I don't work for 908 or ever received compensation from them. Just to be extra clear for you.
[UPDATED new info] I understand your point. I was able to find an article on CBS and on the Sheriff Departments social media about. The disconnect was you were calling "explosion" and that wasn't coming up in any search results. The press release and articles were simply saying it "ignited" with no mention of explosion or property damage.
Nonetheless, good precautionary tale. Thanks for sharing.

Ok. Right after I posted that I did come across some articles that are saying it happened in Kandiyohi County.
I don't like burning agencies when things like this happen. I'll usually leave them out on purpose.
