Gulf Cartel Smuggling .50 Cal Ammo from Texas to Mexico

The Gulf Cartel is actively purchasing and smuggling large quantities of .50 caliber ammunition from South Texas into Mexico, fueling their intense turf war. Recently, Mexico's National Guard intercepted a Texas man attempting to smuggle nearly 1,000 rounds across the Veteran’s International Bridge from Brownsville, Texas, to Matamoros, Tamaulipas. This follows a separate U.S. operation where a father and son, Jesus Maciel Garcia and Jeremiah, were arrested in Hidalgo County, Texas, for purchasing 600 rounds of .50 caliber ammunition, allegedly for the cartel. Despite not explicitly linking these incidents to the Gulf Cartel, the pattern suggests their involvement in escalating violence with high-powered weaponry
