Shootout at Baja 1000 Race
A shooting took place in San Vicente, Baja California, near the Oxxo on the San Vicente - San Quintin highway on Niños Heroes and Melchor Ocampo streets. Reports indicate that at least 15 people were shot, resulting in 6 fatalities. Among the victims, there are rumors of members from the Arellano Félix Cartel being killed. Following the attack, the Government of Ensenada expressed its commitment to collaborate closely with the Baja California State Attorney General's Office to investigate and clarify the incident. Mayor Armando Ayala Robles expressed his condolences and stated that surveillance has been increased in the affected area, with active operations to locate the responsible individuals. Authorities from multiple agencies, including the Municipal Police, State Citizen Security Force, Navy, State Investigation Agency, National Defense, Fire Department, and Mexican Red Cross, responded to the scene to provide assistance and transport the injured to medical facilities for treatment.
